Proper Transaction Etiquette

This is going to be a note on what the interaction between captains, players, commissioners and the Wrenport ideally looks like.

When Captains Agree on a transaction:

Notify your commissioner about the trade and that person will look the move over. Once deemed acceptable by the commissioner and/or a third party chosen by the commissioner you can consider the trade completed.

Once the Transaction is approved by the commissioner:

  1. Please notify the Wrenport about your approved transaction so the writer can begin creating the Trade Breaker for the official announcement. Please include a quote, whatever you would like to submit, about the trade.
  2. Please notify the players you are trading that they have been moved. Regardless of potential bad blood between the captain and the player please just notify the player that they have been moved. While you're notifying your player please ask them to approach the Wrenport with a quote of their own about the trade.

Why?:

When a team completes a trade they would like it to be completed and official as soon as possible. In nights that feature multiple moves the writer in charge of the Wrenport post has to scramble to collect quotes from numerous people. In some cases due to safety features included in Discord messaging a high number of people within a short time span results in temporary restrictions being placed on the account limiting their ability to initiate conversations for a period of time.
Efficiency between completed and approved trade and the official announcement is important to all affected coaches and players and sending your players to the Wrenport is the most efficient way to have that happen.
Also no player wants to be notified by a Wrenport writer contacting them that they have been traded/dropped/acquired.

Once the trade Submitted To The Wrenport:

Depending on the timing of the trade, please allow for an appropriate amount of time for the Wrenport Trade Breaker to officially break the news before going public with the information. Trade Breakers don't take much time to write and post if quotes are given in a timely manor and if the trade is completed after work hours. Once the post is made consider the trade process completed.

NOTE:

In certain circumstances revolving around last minute trades or emergency drops/pickups the commissioner retains the right to circumvent the need for Trade Breaker to actually break the news.
