Calabasas Camel Crushers v.s Philadelphia Liberty
Kicking off week 6 we have the Camel Crushers who is scrambling for all the points they can get in hope of catching the Halifax Hooks who sit just above them clutching the 4th playoff spot. The Liberty on the other hand are safely nested in the struggle for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd seed race for the playoffs sitting at the top of the league.
Game 1
Game 1 and the Camel Crushers lay it all on the line, every game from here on in is critical and they know that. Making a statement that they wont go down without a fight they secure a massive 3-0 victory against the Liberty
Glensky (2g, 1a) & MikeThrowdano (1g, 1a) pick up the goals that lift John to a shutout and massive win in game 1. Trev (2a) & Jabba (2a) each pick up a pair of assists as the Camel Crushers secure a crutial 3 points.
The Liberty couldn't find a way to beat John in an uncharacteristic game for a team who hasnt typically had a hard time finding the net. They iced their expected lineup of Kapanen, Tony Flow, Rezy, V with Zebra in the net who allows 3 goals for just the second time this season.
Game 2
With a 6 point night in their sights the Camel Crushers look to carry over their effective game 1 into the second matchup of the night. That is exactly what they do as they secure a close fought 1-0 victory securing 6 points in a night for the second time this season.
Trev (1g) is the lone goal scorer and hero for the Camel Crushers assisted by MikeThrowdano (1a) & Glensky (1a). Jabba was the only one held off the scoresheet but that doesn't take away from the fact that his defensive play helped John secure his second straight shutout.
Not the night the Liberty were hoping for as they are shutout in both games. No changes to the lineup was made for them in game two.
Halifax Hooks v.s Bloomington Wild
Just as the last game was hugely important for the Camel Crushers, this game is equally important for the Hooks especially after the Camel Crushers secured 6 points putting the pressure on the Hooks to hold onto that final playoff spot. The Wild are in 3rd place at the moment and not feeling the heat of potentially missing the playoffs at the moment so instead they look to collect as many points as they can in an attempt to solidify their position and fight for seeding.
Game 1
Game 1 is exactly what you would expect from a matchup of two teams with very strong and defensive systems as just a single goal was the decider. The Hooks grab up 3 points in 1-0 hooks fashion.
TheLittleOwl (1g) scores the lone goal assisted by Bojarzin (1a) & Bubba (1a). Maus started the game but was subbed out mid way through, Bubba the one to take his spot. Dalfan was in the lineup but didn't notch a point and Crowbar secured the shutout.
The Wild wasn't able to get it done in game one, Imnotstamkos is the only non-starter player who took to the ice in favor of Mat. Lumalee, Dickiepecker, Owen join him as skaters and Sleepi held the Hooks to just one goal but the team around her can't make it happen.
Game 2
With the dreams of matching the Camel Crushers 6 point night the Hooks fall just short as they fall to the Wild 2-0 and splitting the series 3 points each.
After being shut out in game one Owen (2g) scores a pair both assisted by Lumalee (2a) with Sleepi (1a) picking up an assist on one of the goals and substitute player Imnotstamkos (1a) picking up the other. DickiePecker was the 4th skater in the lineup and his stalwart defending helped Sleepi collect a shutout on the night.
The Hooks couldn't piece it together in this one, having the door shut with by Sleepi. TheLittleOwl, Dalfan, Bubba, Crow with Crowbar in net was the squad in this one after Maus was subbed off mid match last game in favor of Crow
Albany Beavers v.s Red Deer Caribous
This matchup features a Red Deer Caribous team going through some internal restructuring after captain Canada Karl steps down from the team handing the leadership over to Kiwi. The Caribous have a tall task ahead of them as the ever powerful Beavers look to regain their lead at the top of the league.
Game 1
Game 1 and the Caribous, fueled by the desperation to grab points as the remaining games dwindle, manage to secure a massive 2-0 victory guaranteeing 3 points on the night.
Jackk (1g,1a) & BeeGeePi (1g, 1a) are the goal scorers, both goals assisted by newly appointed captain Kiwi (2a). Style was the other slater but he doesn't manage to grab a point. BigLar gets the shutout. Since the Caribous have started rotating their lineup and giving some substitute players more of a look Jackk has stood out as he provides another multi-point night.
Game 2
Game 2 and the Beavers storm back after being shut out in game 1 and win game 2 2-1.

Red Deer Caribous v.s Halifax Hooks
Massive Matchup as two teams in the race for the final playoff spot square up. The Hooks desperately clutching the final spot as the new look Caribous hope to steal it away.
Game 1
Game 1 is textbook Hooks gameplay as they stave off the Caribous and secure a 1-0 victory in regulation.
Game 2
Game 2 comes and goes with the Hooks wrapping up their week going into the deadline and securing 6 points on the night with a 2-1 victory over the Caribous.
TheLittleOwl (1g, 1a) & Bojarzin (1g, 1a) connect for the goals on the evening with Dalfan (1a) and Crowbar (1a) picking up helpers on the goals. Bubba was in the lineup but didn't pick up a point as the Hooks give Crowbar the run support as he shuts the door only allowing a single goal.
The Caribous stay focused on the uphill battle trying to fight their way into a playoff spot but losing both games without a point here to the hooks has to feel back breaking. Kiwi, pk, Jackk, Oihwef, BeeGeePi all skated as the Caribous have adopted a rotating lineup allowing all players ice time.
Philadelphia Liberty v.s Calabasas Camel Crushers
The Camel Crushers with the light of the playoffs fading with every Hooks win take on the Liberty who are battling the Beavers for top seed. The Camel Crushers had a strong performance earlier this week against the Liberty as they seemingly are starting to hit their stride but the Liberty aim to take revenge on them as they face off for the second time this week.
Game 1
Game 1 and both teams come out swinging as the Liberty manage to squeak out a win in the high scoring 4-3 final that didn't need extra time.
A switch in the lines from the previous Camel Crushers matchup as Toaster (1a) finds his way back into the lineup after being sidelined after the V acquisition a number of weeks ago. Kapanen (2g, 2a) & Rezy (2g, 2a) have mirrored stat lines as they both grab a pair of goals and assists. Tony Flow (3a) gets in on the action grabbing 3 assists and Zebra regardless of letting in 3 goals gets the win on the night.
Despite their best efforts the Camel Crushers couldn't keep up with the Liberty's offense. Trev (2g, 1a) gets a pair of goals and Glensky (1g, 2a) matches his 3 point night with Trev's. Jabba (2a) and John (1a) pick up some helpers as MikeThrowdano is the lone man without a point in the game.
Game 2
Game 2 is all Liberty all day as they close out their last game of the week with a 2-0 victory against the Camel Crushers, securing 6 points on the night.
Kapanen (2g) grabs a pair of goals as he continues to lead by example for his Liberty team. Tony Flow (1a), Zebra (1a), Toaster (1a) pick up assists on the night and Rezy was the only one held pointless. Zebra bounces back to his typical season form after allowing 3 goals against in the previous game.
The Camel Crushers were really hoping for more after the pair of wins against the Liberty earlier in the week but their strength is trending upwards in the late stages of the season. The expected lineup of MikeThrowdano, Trev, Jabba, Glensky skated in front of John
Bloomington Wild v.s Albany Beavers
Two strong teams face off in the final game of the week, the Wild and the Beavers two of the top three teams.
Game 1
Game 1 is the Bloomington Wild showing their strong two way game holding the Beavers off and securing a 1-0 win in regulation.
Mat (1g) scores the game winner for the Wild assisted by Owen (1a) & Dickiepecker (1a). Mat was watching from the sidelines in favor of Imnotstamkos in the previous games so getting back in and scoring the winner has to feel good for him. Lumalee was the 4th skater but didnt manage a point in this stalemate-esque game. Sleepi grabs the shutout and win in net.
Unusual for the Beavers to be held off the scoreboard but thats a testimate to the strength in defense and goaltending for the Wild. Meatsale, Hijinx, Car, Chad & Yeesh were the skaters for the Beavers but they couldn't get the job done.
Game 2
Similar style, different outcome in this one. The Beavers take the win in game two turning the tables in this game and securing the 1-0 win in their favor this time around.
Car (1g) is the hero assisted by Hijinx (1a) and Chad (1a). Chad is still on the hunt for his first goal of the season but he collects his 19th assist of the year in this game. Yeesh gets the win and the shutout.
The Wild icing the same team don't get the result they were looking for in this one. But they split the series grabbing 3 points from a very strong team.
Player Quotes
Who do you think is the most dominant player in the league for each category (Playmaking, goalscoring, defending, goaltending)
Maus: "For playmaking I would have to say meatsale just because of his ability to attract so much attention and stick handle he doesn't even need to hit mechanically hard passes the defense is so fixated on him they leave others wide open. Goalscoring for me I would probably say Rezy even though he doesn't have the most goals I think he has the best opposite side corner shot in the game and can score from any angle. Defending I would say Dalfan because of his game sense and skating ability. Nobody quite defends and skates like he does with the backwards transitions he almost looks like a real NHL player back there. Goaltending I would say Crowbar has been a Brickwall for Hooks and has allowed us to squeak out alot of the 1-0 wins we have hadJabba: "Kap, Meat, Austin, Zebra"
What's one thing you'd like to see either changed or added to the game
Maus: "I think a slightly smaller puck or the ability to shoot harder would be awesome. Id love to see some slapshots from the point actually be an effective scoring method like in real life"
Jabba: "No more stick on stick collision or skinnier bodies esp. goalie"
With your play this year v.s the competition where do you see yourself getting drafted next season?
